OUR PROCESS

WHAT WE DO

BOARD & TRAIN

Boot camp for your dog. I build the foundation for your dog so you can continue with at home. During the stay I try to send video updates daily so you can see the progress, that they are happy, healthy and safe. At the end of their stay I spend 1-1 ½ hrs. training you the owner on everything your pup has learned while with me, and also send you home with a list of commands and how to live with your dog when they come home.

REAL WORLD BEHAVIORAL CONDITIONING

Tired of planning your walks when no ones outside?

Have the confidence to handle your dog when life happens.

Training behavioral conditioning and obedience, one without the other is useless.

RECALL

Wouldn’t it be nice to see your dog bounding back towards you after calling him or her? Not only is a dog that comes when called a great pleasure, recall is a critically important response in all dogs, and can literally save lives. Ignoring you, selective hearing, and running away, are common problems in dogs.

JUMPING

Dogs jump for all kinds of reasons: attention, excitement or not knowing what else to do when they see a person. Does your dog jump on you as if they've got springs on their feet? It’s a cute behavior as a puppy but allowing your dog to jump on people can be dangerous too, a child or frail adult can be knocked down and hurt.

CRATE TRAINING

Dogs are den animals; there is safety and security in having their own space. Correctly introduced, dogs of all ages can benefit from crates.

STOP LEASH PULLING

I hear it all the time, “ my walks are miserable”, “I’ve tried everything”

Some dogs pull only when they are focused on something. Dogs that walk on a loose leash most of the time but pull intensely when they see another dog, person, or prey item need to be taught self-control around their triggers. No amount of exercise or leash training will help the behavior around your dog’s triggers if the triggers are not present when you’re training them. It is important to identify what your dog is responding to, so you can train them to respond calmly.

COUNTER SURFING

You put food on the kitchen counter and turn your back to feed the baby or help your child with their homework. You turn around again and the food’s gone and your dog is standing next to the counter looking innocent enough, but he’s licking his lips. Sound familiar? It doesn’t take a detective to determine that you have a pooch who’s a counter surfer.

My female Cane Corso, at 5 months old, spent one week with Richard in January. Prior to training, she was impossible to walk on a leash and was stubborn about coming in the house when called. After training with Richard she was not only walking gracefully by my side on a leash, but she also now listens and follows several commands including sit, place, down and come. Richard also gave me a lot of confidence and proper training for the e-collar and prong. What Richard accomplished in one week with her was remarkable. I would absolutely recommend Richard to others who are looking for a.solid foundation for their canine. Thank you Richard!

I was looking for a dog trainer for 2 weeks of board and train for our puppy. I was contacted by Rich and am very happy that he did so. After an initial visit (which was free), we felt very comfortable leaving our puppy with him. Rich has a very calming demeanor and explains things very well. Our dog was very well trained for a 5 month dog. And we are quite happy with our experience. Would definitely do it again and probably will do a refresher course in the future. definitely do it again and probably will do a refresher course in the future.

From our first introduction with Rich, I could see how passionate and well-informed he is, regarding dog-training. He made Willie and me quite at ease , while helping Willie get used to the pinch collar. He had him comfortable and complying, within a couple of minutes, after helping him through his initial apprehension. Rich was extremely patient and gentle, letting Willie know that he was in good hands . I immediately felt comfortable, after feeling quite anxious about leaving him with a total stranger. I was not successful, at home, getting him to get into a crate . Now , after his week with Rich, he has no problem with that and now seems to like his crate , sleeping through the night and fine with crating when I leave him for a couple of hours. I highly recommend K9 Reset to anyone who loves their pup !

Rich is exceptional with his dog training capabilities. This was the best decision I could have made for my Boxer puppy. She was pulling on leash, some reactivity to other dogs on walks and jumping on people and objects. She is a calmer and happier dog after receiving training with Rich. He took the time to be sure I was comfortable with all the commands and had a good grasp of the concepts that he had worked on with my dog.I would absolutely recommend K-9 Reset without reservation and would utilize them again in the future.

I have two malamutes who needed to be trained for reactivity , and the puppy was a complete disaster at home if left alone , Rich trained them both , and set up a strong base for me and my kids to take over ! I’m walking with them now and bunch of dogs pass by us with no reaction from my dogs ! I can leave a tomahawk steak 🥩 in front of the pup and he will be sitting underneath without even looking at it !! But he started reacting again the past couple of days because my kids were not consistent with the training and I was working long hours. Rich is a wonderful trainer, he communicated every day about how the dogs are doing , sending videos and pics ! Even now after we are done for a while I still can call him and ask his guidance ! He sets up a solid base for you to continue, it’s very essential to be consistent after his work is done or else dogs will forget and go back to their old habits ! Thanks Rich I think Axel misses you 😆

We chose to give K9 Reset a try based on the reviews I read online, and I am so glad we did. We admired Rich's calm and professional disposition, and I immediately felt he could handle our insane pointer puppy. Before Branden went to spend the week with Rich we tried everything to get him tired enough just to pet him, he was like "lightning in a bottle", jumping, pulling, chewing, would not walk down stairs, just getting him out of his crate in the morning was impossible, like trying to put a collar on the tasmanian devil! It was so long since our last puppy and then add two young kids to the mix, we needed real help. I loved that Rich contacted us every day and sent videos while Branden was with him. The day we picked Branden up he was casually sitting in the park and I was able to pet him and walk with him, it was amazing! Rich stayed in contact weeks after and continued to help with Brandon's specific problems at home which was also amazing! His walks are wonderful now and I love that I don't have to carry him down stairs anymore!! We still have a nutty pointer puppy, though now we feel that we have the right tools and knowledge to handle him. Rich changed our entire family's lives by helping with Branden. If we ever go crazy again and add another dog to our family, K9 reset will be my first call!
